
In Florence in Piazza SS Annunziata just a few steps from ST Mark square, there s the Church of SS Annunziata, the Basilica of the Most Holy Annunciation.The Church was found in 1250 by the seven original members of the Serviti order. In 1252 a painting of the Annunciation which had been begun by a monk but abandoned as he could not finish it, was supposedely finished by an angel during the night.The painting was then placed in the church and begun to be venerated.It was built then a sort of area to place all the votes for the venerated painting called then The Chiostrino dei Voti. The Florentines brides traditionally visit the shrine to leave their bouquets. The interiors were decorated with frescoes by Pietro Giambelli in 1644. Inside in the differents chapels frescoes by Perugino, Andrea Castagno and the Pieta' by Baccio Bandinelli.
